happy Monday Sheldon parents and students thank you for joining us for on-demand parent professional development I am mister do onions executive director of academics for Sheldon ISD in with me is samica coordinator of innovative programs and we are part of a team that is creating this trainings just for you we are excited about the upcoming school year and understand the Nunez and Zion T of starting school virtually we are here assist you and your child in this process today we will learn about how to use iPad to be able to login into Google classroom for the first day of school and every day I'm doing Sheldon on demand which is are instructional program so let's get started as soon as you get your iPad weather is your own personal iPad or the one is that the district distributed to our students that needed some techno they all work the same the very first thing that we want to understand is how to turn on an iPad to be able to do that you will find a button she on the very top of the iPad if you press on the button ones can you wait a couple of seconds you will see that your screen will begin to turn on please be patient because it does take a couple of seconds now the next very important but you need to know about is the home but which right here any time you click any of these programs and you want to be able to go back home all you need to do is click on the home button to be able to go back to the screen that you see in front of you the other important is the volume right sometimes we can hear what we're listening to and so we need to raise the volume to be able to do that we just click the button the top one or if we feel that the volume is too loud we are able to lower the volume by clicking the bottom line once we get started and our screen is on it will look something similar to this now don't worry every iPad is a little bit different so 1 the very first things we need to do once the screen is on it still be able to connect your iPad to the internet in your home to do that we do need to go to settings you can find this button on the screen or sometimes is at the very bottom anchor right here either way is the same one if you click it it will take you into all of it today now there's a lot of different information here and sometimes our parents do get overwhelmed please don't so what are we trying to do we are trying to connect your iPad to the Wi-Fi in our home so step number one would be to find this button where it says Wi-Fi you want to click that but once you do that you will see that you are in the Wi-Fi area iPad this toggle needs to be praised all the way to the right and highlighter green that is to tell your iPad to begin searching the different networks around your home as you can see I found my network which is called Ice-T doing is my last name and this is the Wi-Fi that I will be using there are other wife eyes around my area I do not know the password for this wi-fi so I will not be able to use it you will need to be able to do the same find the Wi-Fi belongs to your home in this case I found a right there and it will ask me for the password please make sure you put your password if you are unaware of what your password is please call your internet service provider and they should be what's your internet has I'm sorry once your iPad has internet you'll be able to know that because you see this little bars right here it looks like a radar but they're all turn on as dad's house that you had a good Wi-Fi signal which is extremely important for our instructional programs to work correctly once we do that to be able to go to class on the very first day we do need to go to the internet not we're going to go to the turn it by clicking this button that looks like a compass be able to click the air and it will take you into its Internet service we do want you to go to the Internet service you'll be able to find our website if you go to Alden isd.com when we have all the important information and we'll talk a little more about this website and how it works no I want you to go to my link and the reason why this program is so important it is because it will help all of our students be able to have access to all the instructional programs that we have set up and created for an effective virtual instructional program Sheldon on demand now our students will have to memorize many different usernames and passwords what this program Eileen does enhance her students to be able to login once and only once people have access to all the instruction approach without having to worry about every single username and password to be able to hear you do need to go to my email at Sheldon ISD dot-com and he's going to ask you to be able to login so it's going to ask you for your student ID number the student ID number needs to be placed here and the password is very simple every single student password asking defaulted to the birth date which is 2 digit 4 month 2 digit for day and four digits for the year that the child was born if you do not know your students unique ID number in our district you are able to find that in Skyward Family Access if you need more help with Skyward Family Access please refer back to the videos that we have created that will tell you that how to get into Skyward family access to be able to obtain your child's student ID number once you are inside of this program as you can see it would open up this window that has all the different programs that are extremely important for a student to be able to participate in there Sheldon on demand virtual instructional programs now we want you to go into this Google Apps because remember the very first step that we all need to take is to be able to go into Google Classroom so I need you to click in here so that you can open up all of our Google classrooms when you stream to yourself snakes that but as you can see look at all these joshina programs that we have Gmail we have calendar we have Google Classroom we have Google Documents we have Google Drive we have spreadsheets go Google Sheets and we have power play Disco Google Slides for your child to be able to do is to click Google Classroom Google Classroom will be able to take your child into the particular teacher that he or she belongs I want you to think of Google Classroom just like a real classroom the child is able to go in there he or she can know what the homework is be able to speak to the teacher be able to participate in assessment that is exactly what Google Classroom is is just done right now we are going to create a training Justin Google Classroom that is not part of this training because it would be too long but we will create next week a training just a Google Classroom so you can see how to access your child's homework assignment assessments Grace and much much more so that is very important for you to be able to do with your iPad and be able to remember to do this steps on the very first day and every day after as we predict play dinner Sheldon on demand not all of these videos that we are recording will be placed on a Sheldon on demand official website so how do you get to the Sheldon on demand website me to go to war official website which is sheldonisd.com when she go to our official website looks very similar to this you'll be able to tell that the very top of our official website always stays the same doesn't matter which of these websites or pages I should say you decide to go into the very top will not change and I do want you to pay attention to this but it's called on them this is our official Sheldon on demand website if you click on the button it will take you to our homepage of our Sheldon on demand website this page has all the information that you need to be able to be effective in supporting your child on a Sheldon on demand as you can see if you are students you need to click here if your parent we have a place for you for our teachers but the most important one is this tile which we call the health center central air unit the important is for you to realize that you can always call or help desk this is the number we're open Monday through Monday through Friday 7 to 4 p.m. and so if you click this tile it will take you into the help center in The Help we have videos that have already been selected for you both in English and Spanish for iPads and Chromebooks for Google classroom for Zoo which is the program movie using to meet with their students virtually Skyward where we can get all the information but all of these videos that we are recording just for you will be uploaded on our training videos right underneath the style if you click there you'll be able to find all of our videos please help us to share this information with your
