thank you for joining us for another parent on demand session today we will be discussing how to access and use Google Google Classroom will be the platform all teachers in Sheldon ISD use to teach and engage with your child to get to Google Classroom go to the main page of Sheldon ISD click on the tab labeled students then click on MyLink MyLink is a central place where students will log in every day for school this will house various app for applications they will need once you click on the MyLink tab it will bring you to this page click on the username box can enter your student ID number then enter your password your password will be your two digit month 2 digit day and four digit year then click the blue sign in button next you will be brought to a screen that looks similar to this you will then on Google apps it is recommended at this point to click on the Gmail icon grand opening the email applications students may have already received an email from their teacher or teachers regarding Google Classroom information and codes you can follow those instructions then return to this means screen to continue to enter into your Google classroom if this first time using Google classroom with Sheldon ISD through MyLink this pop-up screen may appear please enter your email address which is your ID number app apps. Sheldon ISD. Com and then into your password which is your two digit month 2 digit day and four digit year then click save this will allow Google Classroom to open automatically through my link each time without having to always introduce information upon entering Google Classroom you'll be taken to a screen is similar to this this is just an example as each student screen will appear differently based on their school schedule if there are no classes listed please check your student Google email to see if you have received a class code from the teacher choose a class you wish to answer or choose a class at the designated time upon clicking on that class you'll be brought to a main screen in that one class the title of the class will always be in the top left-hand Corner similar to the titled circled in blue you will also have a menu in the middle as shown in the red circle and the rest of the page will contain an overview the teacher has created if you click on the classwork tab you will see listed assignment and resources provided by the teacher as indicated by the green circles you will all see that you have access to the class Google Calendar and drive in the top right corner as underlined in blue if you click on the people tab at the top of the screen you will see the teacher is listed as well as the students that are enrolled in that class if your child ever needs to communicate with the teacher clicking on the envelope icon next to the teacher's name will allow them to do so now let's get into finding submitting class work if you click on the classwork tab it will bring you to a page possibly similar to this if your teacher has an assignment it will be listed here I have placed a Blue Block blue box around an assignment example you will be able to see the instructions for the assignment when the assignment was posted the due date and any links provided by the teacher when you click on view pregnant you will be brought to a screen similar to this based on what the teacher has asked to be completed you will click on the plus button labeled ad or create you can then open the type of document your teacher asked you to complete upon completing the assignment make sure to try in the assignment there should be a button in the top right-hand corner labeled turn in please do not just close the document by doing so turn in the Simon automatically you must click on the turn in button once click on the Trenton button a pop-up box will appear similar to this make sure you click on turn in once you click turn in the doctor will clothes and bring you back to the main screen you can now see that your work has been labeled as turned in along with the type of document you submitted if you have not turned in an assignment or if you turned in an assignment late that will also be indicated here's the same screen but I zoomed out so you can see the big picture the last feature we will today will be the menu options available in Google Classroom if you click on the three lines in the top left-hand corner next to the title of the class it will open a menu you will be able to see the classes you are enrolled in this is the easiest way to transition from one class to another class and finally there is a calendar tap if you click on the cow under button a calendar similar to this will come up the calendar will have any assignments the teacher has created this can be a valuable tool in C your upcoming work in assignments also though it is a calendar you can also click on the various assignment or task right here and it will take you straight to the work that the teacher has created I know that we covered a great deal in this presentation regarding Google Classroom we will upload this presentation in our parent on demand tab in the Sheldon ISD website for you to refer back to thank you for joining us
