- FAQs: General Questions

What are the chances that students will be back in the building this school year?

We do not know how long the school closures will last.  We will continue to comply with all state and local orders as it relates to school closures.  When decisions are made, we will do our very best to quickly relay the information to our parents and community members.

How do I know what assignments my child is expected to complete?

Teachers should be in contact with students/parents each week.  The teacher will inform the students/parents of the assignments for the week and also the assignments that will be graded for the week.

Should I see coursework for all classes in Edgenuity for middle and high school students?

Students should be assigned lessons for all core classes (ELA, Math, Science, and Social Studies).  If you or your child do not have lessons assigned, please contact the teacher or the campus remote help desk.

My child is in a math class that requires high-tech calculators.  How do we complete the work without the calculators students usually have access to in the classroom?

There are computer  and tablet apps that can provide calculators for advanced math classes.  The calculator that is used in Math classes grades 8-12 is the TI-Nspire.  A free six-month subscription can be found at the following link: https://education.ti.com/en/software/update/free-ti-software-license-student

The ipad also has a free TI-Nspire app available in the app store or by clicking the following link from your ipad: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/ti-nspire/id590823242

Are we expected to have children work a regular school day at home?

Work provided for students is not meant to last a full school day.  We listed sample schedules on the remote learning website.  We do not believe “remote school” should last longer than a half day.
